Giving Thanks
This is Thanksgiving week in America, but the act of giving thanks has been part of the rhythm of God’s people throughout history. In the Psalms, we see joy and sorrow, praise and lament—all the emotions we experience in life poured out before God.
As you spend time with God today, what emotions are you pouring out to him?
Even in a season of pain, are you getting glimpses of God’s faithfulness?
In a time of rejoicing, do you acknowledge his goodness and provision?
May this Thanksgiving season draw you deeper in your connection with God.
Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
